Our staff base consists of professional drivers, instructors and trainers, most with a background in competition and all with vast technical and motor industry knowledge. Whilst some still compete from time to time in club competition their professional motorsport days are behind them, they now use the skills, knowledge and experience gained to superb effect demonstrating, discussing and informing delegates at new vehicle launches in the UK, Europe and beyond.
Many have and continue to work as pro-drivers at Millbrook Proving Ground on projects and events as diverse as working with defense vehicles to Eco-drive training for London Bus drivers to precision driving for the BBC. Working in the controlled environment of one of the countries largest vehicle test facilities can have its challenges and pressures, but it is due to this that they are always punctual, conscientious, smart, safe and professional.
Within our roster of staff we have two former British Rally Champions, a National Junior and Formula 2 Rally champion, one ex Formula one driver, two test and development drivers from Millbrook and Mira, two Touring Car drivers and numerous regional and club rally and race champions. All have worked as product trainers on new vehicle launches for manufacturers such as Honda, Mazda, Audi, VW, GM, Ford, Toyota and Seat in recent years.
Our professional drivers/trainers can demonstrate the dynamics of a vehicle way beyond the limit of skill that the average driver possesses, but their real skills are being able to communicate their actions, explain how that affects the dynamics of the vehicle in a simple and concise manner and to encourage delegates to experience the vehicle for themselves. |
